SlumberPal Sleep Clock

Cookies and analytics on this website

This page is about the website, slumberpal.app. The SlumberPal app on your phone and tablet is covered by the Privacy Notice; it does not use Google Analytics or any analytics kit.

What the website stores

Nothing, until you answer the question at the foot of the page.

The choice is kept in your browser’s local storage under the name slumberpal.analytics. It is not a cookie, it is not sent anywhere, and it holds only the word “granted” or “denied”.

What Google Analytics does here

Google Analytics 4 tells Slumber Pal Ltd which pages are read, roughly where visitors are, what kind of device they use, which site or search sent them here, and whether a store badge was tapped. That is how we learn which guides help and where to spend our effort.

With your consent it sets two cookies on slumberpal.app:

CookieWhat it doesHow long
_gaTells one visit from the next with a random numberTwo years
_ga_ followed by the property’s IDKeeps the current visit togetherTwo years

The random number is not your name, email or anything you typed. Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses. We have turned off Google signals, advertising personalisation and every advertising link, so nothing here is used to show you adverts anywhere, and the data is kept for 14 months and then deleted.

Google processes the data on our behalf under its data-processing terms. Some processing happens in the United States under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Changing your mind

Use Change your analytics choice at the foot of any page. Choosing No thanks after a Yes deletes the two cookies above from this site and stops any further measurement. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings.

What the website never does

No advertising, no tracking across other websites, no session recording, no fingerprinting, no social-media buttons or embedded players. Fonts, pictures and clips come from slumberpal.app itself. The only outside addresses on any page are the two app stores and, if you accept it, Google Analytics.

Questions

Do I have to accept to use the site?

No. The site works the same either way, and the question is not asked again once you answer.

Does the SlumberPal app use Google Analytics?

No. The app has no analytics kit. What we know about how the app is used comes from counts the service already keeps to run, with no identifier of any adult, child or family, as the Privacy Notice explains.

Why ask, rather than just not measuring?

Knowing which pages parents find useful, and which sites send them here, is how a small company decides what to write and where to be. We would rather ask than guess, and we would rather ask than measure quietly.
